Q + A

When is the RSVP Deadline?

We would love to receive RSVPs by June 30, 2025.

Where should we stay?

We recommend staying in downtown Edgartown, MA which will be playing host to all wedding festivities. We include a selection of hotels in Edgartown and around the island in our Travel & Accommodations tab.

What is the wedding dress code?

Black tie optional. Ladies, this is your opportunity to wear long gowns with a bonus for coastal or garden-inspired hues. Gentlemen, dust off your tuxedos or dashing darkly-colored suits to look your most dapper.

When should I arrive at the ceremony?

We are asking all guests to arrive at the Old Whaling Church by 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

What are the directions to the ceremony/reception venue?

The ceremony is at the Old Whaling Church at 89 Main St, Edgartown, MA 02539, which is in the center of downtown Edgartown. The reception is next door at the Daniel Fisher House.

Is there parking at the ceremony/reception venue?

There is not designated guest parking at the Old Whaling Church or the Dr. Daniel Fisher House. There is a limited amount of street parking around downtown Edgartown. However, if you plan to street park allot extra time to search for an available space. Take advantage of the Edgartown Park & Ride location which is located by the Edgartown Triangle and offers free parking and bus service via the Vineyard Transit Authority.

How will we be addressing Allergies & Dietary Restrictions?

There will be a question on your RSVP card where you should indicate any food allergies or dietary restrictions. We will do our utmost to ensure that they are taken care of! We also planned a variety of appetizers to hopefully suit people's preferences.

What is the welcome party dress code?

Coastal cocktail attire. Ladies can make their appearance in cocktail attire - whether a nice dress or an outfit with an elegant top. Gentlemen can arrive in pants and a nice shirt. Jackets are optional. Ties are not needed.

What about guest photography?

We would like to have a phone free ceremony and ask that all guests refrain from having phones out at that time. Other than that, we want to see all of your best photography and photo-journalist skills to document all of the fun and festivities of the weekend.

Are children welcome?

While you will see Sam's niece and nephew make their grand appearance during the ceremony, we are hosting an adults-only event. We so appreciate everyone who makes accommodations to celebrate with us and allows this to be possible.

What is the weather like in Martha's Vineyard in September?

The weather is unpredictable in September. It could be sunny summer-like beach days or it could be autumnal warm days and cool nights. We recommend keeping an eye on the weather forecast as our wedding date approaches to inform your packing and preparation. We will be doing the same.
